BowPosh for Smiles

Hi everyone!!

LauraCCole.com is planning their first annual charity event in SW Florida! BowPosh for Smiles visits children's hospitals to spread love and gifts to child cancer patients. Laura, the creative director of LCC and it's subsidiaries has had many types of cancer diagnosis as well as other diseases in her family (including her husbands family).

It is truly heartbreaking when a child is in the hospital for an extended amount of time. It gets boring, and they can get quite antsy. The waiting period is intense and the outcomes are so unpredictable sometimes. We want to in some way bring some unexpected joy to their lives, including the parents, even if for an hour or as little as a few minutes.

We have decided to share our love of accessories with these children; bows, headbands, tutus, etc. for girls, and bow ties, ties, etc. for boys. It may seem so simple, but to them it is one extra moment of warmth and love that they feel, even if they don't know us. Who doesn't love getting fun gifts? These families need all of the support and love they can get, no matter how it is given. We pray that this adventure grows even more to where we can do greater things in this area as well as other areas such as working with homelessness. The world needs more love, and less hate. This is one way we can start to give back.

We are planning a visit to the Golisano Childrens Hospital located in Fort Myers, FL (at this time located in the Health Park location) in September we would say, but we need everyone's help! As much as we would like to say we can do this on our own, it is a big task, and we just cannot do it alone this time. We are asking for donations in any amount to go toward our starting goal of $3,000 which will pay for supplies, and items used at these events. While much of this will be coming out of pocket, the donations will also help for future events and projects for our charities.

We will be inviting everyone into this experience so rest assured, you will see what you have also done to help!

We are proud to say that we will be teaming up with Danielle Steele, a Younique presenter, and Sylvia Collazo, a Thirty One consultant!!! They are going to bring so much flair to this first event with helping these kids and parents feel even more important outside of their own families. We are grateful to know these two, kind hearted, selfless individuals!

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact us at any time.

There will be a blog started so that you can watch this plan come to fruition along with photos, and videos of the event! Be sure to find all of us on Facebook as well! We are super excited and are ecstatic to have your incredible support!

Sincerely,
Lauraccole.com & team

Walk To End Alz

Walk to end Alz (Alzheimer's Association) is a fabulous organization set up to help find a cure for the incurable (for now) disease, Alzheimer's. This is such a heartbreaking disease and we actually know more people with it than we realize.

What is Alzheimer's?

Alzheimer's is defined as "a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time, becoming severe enough to interfere with daily tasks." Click here to read more about this debilitating disease." -Alz.org

The BowPosh family has joined the Alzheimer's Association and Walk To End Alz to make these walks and fundraisers fun! We are super excited to be a part of this as we have family members as well suffering from this heartbreaking disease. We want to help in any way we can and this is a great start. Our Fort Myers walk is on 10.25.14 and the Naples walk is on 11.15.14.

If you are local (Lee and Charlotte County) and would like to join our walk, you can do so here or you can find a walk in your local area by searching for a walk by your zip code on Alz.org. We would LOVE for you to join us!! You do NOT have to walk to enjoy these items or to send donations but a portion of each sale of these specific items will go toward the Alzheimer's cause!

Time is reversed with those with Alzheimer's Disease. It is if they are slowly going back in time to the first stages of infancy in the mind. These loved ones looked after us in these times and it is our job to be there for them now. Please do not give up. There will be a cure one day and it and may just save your loved ones life or yours. -LC
